New! Cornbone Studios? Well yes….

When I was very young I used to ride on the back of my Grandparents German Shepherd Duke. We often visited a farmers stand during the day that had corn on the cob. After we finished dinner my grandfather had me give what I called “Cornbones” to Duke.

So the new website name is www.cornbonestudios.com

Still the same guy doing all the work, Scott Aicher. Our family is sincerely grateful for all of your support over the years. We have so much to share and I’m so excited and full of joy about the recent paintings I have done to show you all.

The old web addresses still work too (www.scottaicher.com) and (www.popkustomshoppe.com) that won’t change. I just thought cornbonestudios.com was a bit easier to remember and type in your search bar.

Thanks Again and Stay Tuned for more Soon!

God Bless You All and Happy Trails to You- Scott

Another Year Older 2023

Had a beautiful birthday this year. My nephew smoked ribs my wife made scalloped potatoes. Was good as good gets. I’m thankful my health is improving and I’m learning each day how to take better care of myself by making better choices. I’m doing the best with what I’ve got.

I did get excited about a couple of new hot wheels I got but then it hit me they don’t make ‘em like they used to. All designed and sculpted by computer and probably AI to boot… I do know people who can spot real homemade art will know the difference. I have a good supply of canvas and sketch pads, brushes, paints, pens and pencils.

The road ahead is filled with digital debris to avoid.
Don’t let it slow you down…
Thanks for your support! Happy Trails you you, until we meet again- Scoocher

New toy cars… Good Coffee

My wife brought home two hot wheels for me from the last time I was eye’n them at the grocery store. I like the dessert cars as they are sugar free. This green jello one is a hoot and a half. Got the new Batmobile and I have not even seen the movie yet but this one looks killer. Kind of like a 60’s charger with cool bat wings and tail lights tucked up in back look fierce. I dig this flat brown tint primer too.

I got good coffee and I’m sipping it slow as possible.
Working on masterpieces and going to fitness class which is most important and most needed. God Bless my friends there. It’s a beautiful place. I’m grateful for it.

I hope y’all are enjoying the little things too. God Bless this clean air and my wife who does so much for our family.

Happy Trails! See you ‘round the fitness center… Scott

Reuben sandwich with sauerkraut… too much man.

We had leftovers from st Patrick’s day so we had Reuben sandwiches on marbled rye. Was pretty choice eats.

I’ve been going to fitness class pretty regular now with a day missed now and then. When I miss I try to get in some work at home to keep up the maintenance plan.

My health is improving noticeably but I am feeling older too so I’m pretty glad to have my class to go to and I’m grateful the good people there are so supportive.

I have really been avoiding desserts unless it’s natural.
That means sugar from fruit or honey is what I’m trying to stick with. Trying to remember to drink my daily water.

Got some new art supplies and a couple of records but trying to budget as everything is so expensive now. Even used records can be expensive. I paint on canvas boards now as they are cheaper in bulk. I know that’s not what art schools recommend but sometimes you do what you need to.

I have some comic strips started and many never shared. Was thinking of making a printed book but I keep changing my mind about it.

I have had time to get new paintings done but don’t really feel like posting them as they are mostly just personal paintings I made to decorate my studio space. Lots of that kind of art lately.

Some of my new paintings are up for sale on my online store site: popkustomshoppestore.com

I invite you to check out my art for sale there along with my coffee mugs, posters and clothing and more.

I hope you all are staying healthy and finding some joy in life. I thank you for your support and interest in my artwork.
Until next time, Via Con Dios- Scott

New! Comic of the Month Section!

Just Added! New comic of the month section on the website.
Maybe a few new cartoons each month? Free of charge sound good? I will try to keep it clean. Let me know what you think in the contact section.

It’s been nice weather here lately and I’m getting things done and going to fitness class as often as I can when I’m not making excuses not to. I’m on a healthy eating plan too.
Mobility is returning more each week. I’m going pretty slow with it all but being consistent.

Dreaming about getting out to local guitar shops and thrift stores and art supply markets soon, but for now I have good paints and quite a few canvas boards and sketch pads to fill up.

If you have a free second please visit my online shoppe store popkkustomshoppestore.com

I have put up a lot of new paintings for sale and coffee mugs are just 20 bucks each now, so take a look and we thank you for supporting our small business. The art is real hand done and I love to hear your suggestions, comments and requests so don’t forget the contact section on popkustomshoppe.com.

Thank You and God Bless You all! Stay Inspired and Take Care, until next time- Via Con Dios, Scoocher

Tom Verlaine Rest In Peace…

On today’s record rant Tom Verlaine passed away yesterday and I had finally got Marquee Moon on vinyl recently. I had had cd before that.
A very unique and inspiring guitar player. Known to play a Jazzmaster early on. Marquee Moon has some very beautiful guitar work and transports you to New York 1977 when you hear it. Play some Television today if you have it. I’m going to.

Picked up a brand new copy of Aerosmith Toys in the Attic on audiophile vinyl last week. This was my most played record in my youth. I only had a handful of records as a kid and I got this by trading my best friends brother for my copy of Boston’s Don’t look back. I really wore it out. I had the walk this way single too. We listen to a transistor radio on the walk to grade school which was where I first heard walk this way.
So this audiophile copy sounds great but in a few critical spots they took off the rough edges and while it sounds way more clear… you can hear things layered in you could not before…you miss a lot of Steven Tyler’s “honk”, if you will, it’s not cut hot enough in spots and that sounds on purpose.

It’s not gritty like I remember. It’s too much production.
Yet, I will probably give it a spin again. It kind of sounds like a Sargent Pepper version of this record or kind of pet sounds sounding.

Hope you’re having a good one out there. Until next time, Via Con Dios- Scoocher

Is Creativity Cringy?

The word “creative” used to describe an artist is “cringy” to me. I have been asked often if I am the kind of guy who paints because he wants to or has to. It has been said that the need to make art can stem from mental illness in people. It does take an obsessive compulsion at times to keep at it. Some get a type of therapy from it. They express themselves through the process.

This is how it tends to work for me. It’s not always fun. At times it’s a release of anxiety and fears. Other times an expression of my joy and love and gratitude for being alive.

I am not good at timing it takes to express my thoughts verbally often. I get the words wrong when put on the spot but if I have a few minutes I can write it out on paper much better. Better still I can paint you a picture of it with no words at all most times.

Like Jeff Spicoli needed tasty waves, all I need some sketch pads, pens, canvas, paints, room to paint in….and I’m fine…

Lately I started to make time outside the studio. You got to find the inspiration in the air out there. The only way.

Forget these creative apps and digital paints offered. It’s worth making a mess and smelling the lead pencil and acrylics.
If you know, you know…. I sell my art at popkustomshoppestore.com

I hope you will visit and see my latest art on the pages of popkustomshoppe.com as well.

God Bless You All, in gratitude and appreciation, Scott Aicher January 20, 2023
